About Lori
Lori has always loved singing. Her father taught dance during the 50's and 60's: her mother was a music teacher. Starting at an early age and with increasing regularity, she sang at school and church events throughout high school.
"I grew up listening to an eclectic collection of music: disco and opera, big band swing and Top 40, musicals and Liberace." Lori sings blues and pop but mostly she sings jazz. "These songs make me happy. They remind me of my dad singing or humming the 'oldies'."
Lori's personal favorites are jazz standards sung by the great female singers: Sarah Vaughn, Julie London, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne. The lyrics and melodies of these songs seem timeless and have a broad appeal. Lori loves singing these songs and creating an updated interpretation of these familiar tunes while mixing in current songs to keep everyone in the audience entertained.
